A Much Overdue Author Update

Much has transpired in these first two months of the new year, and, unfortunately, our home renovation and my baby’s transition from easy-going infant to super active pre-toddler has left me drained of my energy by my children’s naptime, and still drained by bedtime. This means that I have fallen out of my usual habit of writing during these times. Instead, I have been napping and making my bedtime just minutes after laying my children down.

To add to the stress that comes with a renovation, I also recently had a bout of iron-deficiency anemia. This is something I have been dealing with since I was a teenager, so I knew how treat it, but it still did not help me in my writing goals. Thankfully, my iron level is back where it should be, and our renovation is nearing completion, and I have been getting back into my writing groove.

So what am I working on? I am working on book 3 of, what I am terming, a generational series that follows the love stories of three generations of women (a grandmother, her daughter, and her granddaughter), as well as the dangers they each face in their youth from the grandmother’s arch enemy. This is all I can tell you for now, as I am still working on all of the details that weave these three women’s stories together. It is definitely proving to be more complex than I originally planned, but it will be all the better for it.

Now, you might be wondering why I am working on book 3 first. Well, I originally wrote book 3 as a stand-alone romance, and upon beginning to revise it, I decided to trash it and start over since I hated almost everything about it. While still in the early stages of rewriting it, the ideas for books 1 and 2 came to me. This then required me to stop progress on book 3 and write a couple of new chapters for the early part of the book that would continue the overarching revenge plot from the first two books. With any luck, I will be able to keep up my newfound momentum. Wish me luck!
